when my children were younger they went to connections academy and my then husband worked for them. The teaching platform was great as was the parent & student learning platforms. The teachers worked closely with families and students.
I have worked with other online platforms but this one seemed to be the most cohesive, and user friendly for all sides
However this is before they we’re purchased by a larger company I believe
yes it was a great place to work. If I had the opportunity to work with them I would. As A parent of my kids were young again I would use them for the school. I loved the curriculum, and that the teachers were always on hand if there was a question or I wanted to adjust the lesson. They also had get together a and field trips for the kids. It was a great mix of both homeschool and seat based sites.
this was before they sold though in there Missouri based school. Like every school each site has its own culture and I don’t know how curriculum and company has changed since 2009
It varies from school to school and what grade level you teach. Where I'm at, it tends to be more phone calls and trying to get students engaged but it can really depend on the state requirements and school policies. Some courses have 200 students but teachers have say over what assignments are required to keep grading to a minimum. Curriculm is set but there's options for teachers to adjust it and they are always adjusting the platform to make it more user friendly for teachers and students.
I can't speak for every school, but teachers say they get more of an opportunity to know students individually then dealing with classroom management and lesson plans.
I work fully remote aside from state testing times. I know some schools that hire proctors though.
