Got a specialty occupation RFE on my H1 extension. I read the approval rates for such RFEs is 30%. Does anyone have any insight on how common/dangerous this is? My current H1 expires in August of this year, so kind of freaking out...

Nah, speciality occupation RFE is the RFE they send out in 80% of the rfe.
Though it's true that the overall approval rate falls by some 25-30% after an RFE (the % depends on you firm)
Among RFE reasons, this one is pretty common/standard request and in my experience most of them eventually get approved.

I had that kind of RFE and it was cleared. Whoever I know who had that RFE also cleared it. You’ll be fine

Also happened to me a few years ago and it worked out fine. I know it’s hard not to freak out but hang in there!

In this situation now. Awaiting outcome.

File an FOIA and get the details on ur Rfe before speculating , plz

I got it too and got cleared recently. You should be fine just make sure to prepare the worksheet with utmost details. Dig through your university website, find course details and say your daily activities appropriately.

OP - Send me your email via private message. I’ll email you the completed RFE template that you can use to build your RFE response.

Same boat here, I sent back everything and now waiting to hear back. In average how long does it take?

I had it twice and it was cleared. I got mine cleared in may, you got this!

Do managers at RSM get shares of the firm?

Asking advice from a recruiter: I’ve been recently laid off :( This week I took some time to reflect, talk to friends and family. I want to be more thoughtful on my next move and although interviewing right away would be logical I feel I want to take a break and some time for myself. Take a month or two off working and use that time to plan thoughtfully on my next move. Would having that gap in my resume be an issue when I go back to the job market?

I am so furious. My ex husband just informed me we were not technically divorced! He left the house last July and went abroad in August. Our divorce has been filed in January when I sent the papers to him to get a wet signature and he said he would send to courthouse to get them filed. I started dating in March when our divorce was supposed to be finalized in January! Stupidity on my part, but what do I do now? I am sort of seeing someone. The ex is coming home on Monday for his child’s birthday

How many years of experience at current job do I need to apply for PE ops roles? Is such a switch from current company even possible or do I need a stint at an MBB to make this happen. Based on experience I’d target LMM Energy/ infrastructure PE firms.

About to join a new company and need to transfer h1b - should I also try to have an amendment (for change of location) be processed with my current company at the same time?

H1B visa approved
Interview done. Hope now I get passport soon. 😃😊

I'm on L-1A...Employer files for an I-140 (in EB-1)...I get the I-140 approval....I get laid off.....I join a 2-year MS program (on F1) in US.....Post MS, an employer willing to file H1-B hires me.....New employer files for my I-140 (in EB-2).

At this point, does my new I-140 priority date remain intact from first approved I-140?

Also do they support premium processing?

Asking for a friend.
He works for Pwc and had year end discussion in which he is told that they are planning to put him under Performance improvement program post 4th July. His i40 was approved last month, I have 2 questions.
1) If PWC terminates him, will they apply to USCIS for revoking his i40? Does the big 4s generally withdraw?
2) given his scenario, should he just move on to new employer or will he risk or loosing his i40 in this case?

Got an offer and will take it next week. They said that I should only communicate my leaving after they’ve confirmed my H1B transfer. Can anyone explain how that process goes? Looking for a detailed..

Is it okay to go to India and get H1b stamping done when I don’t have a client (on the bench)?

Next Prediction for H1b: if you're not going to the office i.e. if you're working from home, leave the country. Kinda obvious move right? I'm a high five you if you predicted this before I break some furniture and cry in the corner.

I’m currently on STEM OPT. Still have 21 months on it. I heard somewhere that companies look for at least 2 years of valid visa to hire someone. Does that mean I cannot switch till I get my h1b visa?
