My contract was terminated last week. Expecting to be laid off any day now.

Who was the client?
It won’t be pretty. Lot of stop work orders upcoming in the foreseeable future, especially if you are supporting civilian agencies. They are doing broad cuts of entire programs and agencies, and when they go, so does the need for support on them.

I agree with some of what they’re doing, we make an extravagant amount of money off the back of taxpayers so understand when they’re cutting contracts esp. some of the OCM ones. I think there needs to be more coordination with the big firms though to do these massive tech changes. We have the technical capability and can do the work pretty quickly if given the latitude.
Yes, there's definitely waste in govt contracting I agree. A lot of it is due to complacency/incompetence by federal workers, bureaucracy/red tape, and greed by contracting companies taking advantage. That said there's certainly many critical functions as well and I'm skeptical that such broad sweeping cuts are going to target these correctly. For national security functions especially, you can't just cut it and put it back in a year once you find out it was actually important. Also not convinced the waste is going to be cut instead of just shifted to other even less efficient avenues (e.g. tax cuts for the uber wealthy).
