Has anyone interviewed with Amazon in the last 6 months. I finished my loop for a finance role. It’s been 8 business days and no update from the recruiter. I mailed the recruiter who said apologies for the delay but we will get back to you with next steps. Has anyone had this experience and what was the outcome Amazon

Most likely no, especially since it was so long ago. Just admit you were stupid, did it, realized it wasn’t right, and never did it again. You’re not embarrassed by it, it happened, and you’ve never felt the need to try that or anything else.
What they are trying to see is 1) are you a risk of not following rules/the law and 2) is there something that someone could blackmail you with
Who is asking you the question? I don’t think it will be a problem for the firm hiring you. For the clearance form, I think they only ask about drug use in the last 7 years. I could be wrong on that. If they do ask about any drug use ever then one time 15 years ago should not be an issue, and you’re better off disclosing it
Clearance asks for ANY drug use. But the whole point of the investigation is to vet your trustworthiness. They care more about whether you lie, drug use in recent years, looking at how long ago the use was and have you maintained trustworthy behavior since
Drug use in the last 7 years. That’s the sf-86 question. Won’t come up. A full-scope will probe about any misleading information on the form. Just don’t lie about that but 15 years ago is no problem.
A CI-Scope won’t ask about sex, drugs, or rock and roll (my first polygraph interviewer’s words).
They’re looking for ways you could be blackmailed - if you are trying to hide anything that they discover on their own then it’s a red flag for them. Current drug use is problematic, but I disclosed pot (TS) and no one batted a proverbial eye
Just say yes, you did it in Amsterdam where it was legal. They won't ask any follow-up questions
No, just be honest. I put pot (experimental use in college < 10 times) on my form and was fine. Plus it should only ask if you have in the last 7-10 years
Tell. The. Truth. If you lie and get a clearance it will come back to haunt you
Very helpful, thanks all.
Fresh out of college got a Secret clearance. Wrote I smoked weed in high school and freshman year of college and since stopped. No issues
I think pot is okay if not recent and repeated. Harder stuff will probably result in an adverse ruling if you’re trying for a TS clearance
