Had one of those moments today where a coworker asked for help, then argued with every answer they got. By the end of it I was standing there wondering why they even asked in the first place. Work can be weird like that. People want support, but only if it sounds exactly the way they already had it in their head. Does anyone else feel like half the frustration at work is dealing with people who ask questions they do not actually want answered?

That's the case not just at work but life in general. Some people would rather just complain than take any kind of action to improve things for themselves. Sounds like your coworker is one of them.

That drives me crazy! Don’t ask questions you do not want to hear the answer to. I’ve told people to ask somebody else because I’ve been too frustrated with them before.

Or when they ask and you give them the answer, they’ll give you the “yea yea yea” or “I knew that” as if they knew. If you knew, why’d you ask?

I totally relate to that. I used to work with someone who would need help with their computer. And when I'd help them they'd be arguing with me and more or less insulting me the whole time. It was the weirdest thing, if you need help be nice to the person helping you.
