Curious what market rate would be for my role: Head of HR for a tech start up, nationwide/remote company based out of Pittsburgh. I’m the first HR and run everything except payroll. Responsible for building comp program.career pathing, emerging leaders program, performance program, all recruiting/onboarding, L&D, etc. Thecompany is scaling and high growth. I have SPHR-SCP and 15 years experience in corporate and small companies. Currently at $102K base + 20% incentive. Seems low to me, thoughts?
Has anyone taken the sphr exam?

I’m also going to be taking it soon. I failed the PHR 4 years ago. My advice would be to think in large terms rather than just memorize the laws and terms. A lot of questions on the test will be scenarios
I took it back in September and failed it.
It involves so much critical thinking rather than memorization, make sure you sleep well and flag confusing scenarios so you can double-check your work. If you know the basics or "rules of thumb", you will be able to apply that in all scenarios, even the union-related stuff.
Wow that’s nice , any more tips by anyone
My test is 2/11.
I highly recommend this app. It was better then any paid resources I’ve found. I used this app and the Mometrix course and only studied for 20 days because I had plans to reschedule but it was to late and didn’t want to pay the extra fee. So 20 days of focused study, this app, and the Mometrix course and passed on the first try.
I passed the PHR exam in September 2020. It wasn’t that hard and really knowledge based. Lots of questions on Employee and Labor Relations and Business Management and strategy. As long as you know the information you should be good.
Yes. I had about 10 questions regarding Unions. There were also quite a few regarding labor laws knowing how many employees are required for which law. The questions are written in a variety format so you fill in the blank, matches, multiple choice, situational based, and a few calculations.
Flash cards saved me. I also had a weekly study with a coworker and we quizzed each other.... good luck!
How long did you spend studying?
Best advice from my prep professor: Get a good questions bank and practice testing over and over until you get every question right. I did this for 2 weeks before the PHR exam and passed.
Remember when taking the SPHR especially that you are representing the company and need to think and act in the company’s best interest- always. Answer questions with that at the forefront of your mind and you’ll be fine. Good luck!
Quizlet helps with studying, but honestly I had the e-learning platform and the practice test helped me tremendously.
Wait what
Lord I need to take this !!
Am preparing for it , need help
When is your test?
Take a lot of practice tests so you’re familiar with the types of questions you will be asked.
Can someone help me books or prep material that is good for SPHR exam
