Happy New Year everyone! Does anyone have an office party today? Ours is planned for January 4, and I’m already excited. It’s a great way to start the year, relax with colleagues, share laughs, and reset after busy days. Looking forward to good food, conversations, and positive vibes as we welcome new goals together. Hope everyone enjoys celebrations and starts the year refreshed strong

Company offers parties and such, but interacting with the people here is beyond painful, so I always decline now. Just another thing this company does to attempt to retain talent, instead of things that matter to their career and livelihood.

You don’t like to interact with people..?

Our office party already happened and truthfully I didn't go. It isn't really something that most of us look forward to. Hope everyone had a great start to the new year though.

Its new year party.?

We had an office party in mid-December, in the form of lunch at a nice restaurant. It was fun to hang out a little with people outside of the usual work strictures. I like the idea of a January party, a New Year's party seems like it would have a different vibe to it, looking ahead instead of looking back, which tends to be the December vibe.

No office party at all. My company doesn’t want to splurge on us

Thats not good think

We have an office party mid-December. I prefer this because the last thing I want to do right now is have another party after the holidays

My sister might divorce with her husband, they have a baby of 1.5 year. We came from a divorce family and honestly never thought it would happen again - I feel powerless and I don’t know what to do. I feel bad for my sister but I am also mad at her (the fault is always in the middle) because they are not trying to fix it. I am also scared for the baby, I perfectly know what it means to grow up in a divorce family and as much as parents are present is not the same.

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.

User experience mgr salary? I support six product teams and eight reports. 20+ years experience

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

Does anybody know what the typical salary range is and total comp for someone starting out as an internal or external wholesaler? If you are one of these, can you share about your experience in terms of whether you liked it or not, work life balance, travel, etc?
