S&OP at its finest
- Sales is told to sell more and differentiated
- Operations is told to reduce costs and streamline operations (but there’s more complexity and higher volumes)
- Planning is told to reduce inventory, plan more efficiently to reduce changeovers, and meet all orders (but there’s once again more SKU complexity, higher demand, and they have to always respond to whatever events or new product introductions are created)
They each have goals that don’t align with one another and if we worked together we could make so much money and save so much money, but that never happens 😂
I feel like we're doing the same job :) Have you found any tips or suggestions for managing? Seems like it's always a game of give/take, or push/pull...for me it's going on 20+ years now and there's always been this disconnect.
