You were promoted and your boss isn’t happy about that? Isn’t your boss the one who promoted you? Frankly, if this is your situation, you need to sit down with your boss and explain what you need from him. Some people don’t interact well with others, some people don’t know what to do and are afraid to admit it so they use tactics like this. Regardless of why, you need to sit down with your boss talk about what your needs are and ask him what his expectations are.
Nobody likes to admit this, but in order to get ahead, you have to learn to work with flawed human beings. And that means building relationships where you can, and finding ways to get people to do what you need them to do so you can succeed. Often that is making sure that your boss always looks like a hero. When you make your boss look good, you benefit.
