Time at a company is just one tiny factor among many when it comes to promotions. I have peers who do not want to be promoted for a variety of reasons. If you’d end up with those people as direct reports, make sure you focus on shared goals, don’t go on a power trip, and all should be fine.
I believe some don't want to be promoted but I have others that were questioning it and also want to be promoted. How would you navigate that situation?
Listen….if the company wanted to promote the other people they would. It’s THEIR fault for staying at a company that won’t elevate them….not yours. Your career climb is yours! Don’t worry about them. Get your bag!
