Has your company or department changed its WFH policy (if applicable)? My department has been following a hybrid model—2 days in the office and 3 days working from home. However, with the increasing number of companies implementing RTO policies, I’m concerned we might have to start coming into the office more frequently.

I think your instincts about that are on the money. There really are a lot of attacks on remote work lately, from people like Jamie Dimon and of course Elon. There's just this attitude that people who work remotely are somehow cheating the system. I would bet a lot of companies will demand people get back into the office as no one wants to be the outlier when the trend is pointing to more RTO mandates.

I see your points, however I dont think its true to assume that people dont work as hard at home as they are in the office. In fact, I am way more productive at home as there is no distractions from coworkers and save time for traffic. I do think a few days in the office helps collaboration but no need for full RTO.

Companies have been making the change for RTO for years now. Big peak at the beginning of last year. Many of which take a complete turn away from everything that they did during covid. That being said though I have seen companies stay hybrid, just feels like we are bombarded with RTO headlines.

I think the media goes through phases. Two to three years ago, the focus was on companies—especially tech companies—rolling out fully remote policies. But now, the tide has shifted. I agree that these headlines don’t help the case for WFH for sure.

My department has also been on a hybrid model, but there’s definitely been some buzz about more in-office days. I’m hoping they’ll keep it flexible, working from home has been such a productivity boost for me personally. As long as they let us have at least one day working from home I'll survive, but I'd prefer to have at least 2 (I have 2-3 right now depending on my week)

Totally agreed. I'd prefer 2 or 3 days WFH; it just gives me a lot of flexibilities and avoid crazy traffic...

Not yet but similar to others, there has been a slow shift from completely remote to now having to do 3 days in the office.

Personally, I feel 3 days in office is more than enough as people would spend 60% time in the office per week. Granted, depending on the workload or project status, people may work in the office 1 more day.

Does anyone teach in class elementary, middle, or high school and also teaches college level? If so, how did you get the college level job? I have a masters and specialist degree and teach in class. I’m now in the middle of my doctorate degree though it’ll be another year before I’m done.

Went for a pre-employment drug test yesterday. They never asked me if I was on any medications. I had to ask them and was told "oh yeah, just put any you may think make a difference in this text box." I put Xanax, Flexeril, and gabapentin. All of which are prescribed and used as directed. Now I'm terrified that I should have put ALL my meds, to including my psych meds. I've been sober over 12 years and never touched drugs (just booze) but I'm having a full blown panic attack.

Could use some help designing a commission scheme, what would you sharks do in my situation??? I’d like to do some sort of group scheme, not an individual contributor scheme.

Situation:
just replaced a 35yr lifer and now boss tells me to create a business plan and comp scheme. Now there’s me and my trainee who’s rather green. It would be my responsibility to train him up. With 2 effective sales people last year we did ~7M @ 50% margin avg contract value of $25k (record setting year).

How would resource management (Tax) look like in big4 firm? As in WLB, growth factor etc. I may interview for the senior associate role. Also, I will be career pivoting from Audit A2 currently.

Any guesses on the salary range for Senior Associate, Rm, Kpmg?
