The Guy Who Would Have Been My Boss Quit the Day I Was Supposed to Get a Job Offer. This was for a Motion designer job for a big Edtech company. $60,000 - $65,000/year salary, fully benefitted, and remote. I really wanted this job.

Maybe this is time for a career change. Job hunting is dehumanizing. This kind of fickle treatment is an injustice. Are all designer job hunts like this? Why would a company do someone dirty like this? Maybe this is a sign of some worser issues from that company.

I am 15+ yrs ep and have got an offer from EPAM.. my current company work in Automation Testing is relaxed but not much growth.. kindly respond below,

1) how is job security with people having more exp 15+
2) how is the nature of work in Automation Testing for an architect level

Any advice for an experienced HR professional with SHRM-SCP? I was downsized from my last job as a VP of Admin wanted to go with Coordinator/Assistant structure. Been in HR for nearly 20 years with mostly generalist experience. Managed a function and/or people for most of that time. Senior level in my experience, but definitely not executive level. (Limited budgeting and PM experience.) Having a horrible time finding a new role! Getting a lot of interviews but no offers and getting discouraged.

I started a firm with three other colleagues about a year and a half ago. We all came from the same bigger firm and now obviously we are considered a very small. We want to make our first hire and hire someone for around $100,000 as a manager to manage around $200,000 of work. They came back at $120,000. After taxes and benefits that’s $150k to manage and prepare $200k of work. Anyone own a smaller firm who can share opinion? How much work should one manage for that kind of salary?

Is there a flex culture in nyc or is there that much money to be made here? Over the past week of moving here, I’ve met 1) a second year investment banker driving a brand new Porsche Panamera, and 2) a third year forensic accountant decked out with designer clothes driving a Tesla Model X. I understand they technically can afford it but don’t they save? I’m from West LA where people are rich but more lowkey so this is kinda a culture shock.

How do you transition from big 4 consulting to big law? My clients are all funds, and I do international tax consulting. I have used my connections to refer me into probably 10 big law firms and it’s not working. One most recently came back and said they aren’t interested bc I have no law firm experience. How am I supposed to get it though? I can’t go to lower ranked firms bc my clients are all “big.” … any suggestions appreciated!
