Have you ever had a goal that you slowly realized might not happen after all? I used to be so focused on moving up fast in my career (leading teams, making big decisions, all of it). But over time, I’ve started to wonder if that path is actually right for me, or even realistic with everything else I’ve got going on. It's been tough to admit, but also kind of freeing. Curious if anyone else has experienced that shift in what success looks like?

Been there. I think it is because we are all in different seasons or stages of our lives.

I still want to hit a much higher income. (Affording a house, paying off student loans, etc are things that are on the list)

But I also know that some things like accessibility support and remote work are higher on the list right now.

Yes I’ve definitely felt that shift too. It’s hard to let go of what you thought your path would be, but I’ve found there’s a lot of peace in redefining what success actually means for the life I want now.

100%, when I was younger I was so determined to climb up the career ladder. Now I’m here im happy doing what I’m doing, with an average pay, and going on some nice holidays and living in a lovely place! For me that’s enough and not worth the stress of a more important job

Hi,
I am 4 years experienced Data scientist in Image processing/ computer vision domain. Currently pursuing Masters in Arizona State University. Looking for a job in India. I will be graduating in December. Referrals appreciated.

How common is it for first year associates to spin wheels? In my 4th month, I spent 6 hours doing a return with 3 K-1 royalties, 2 Schedule C with few expenses, and the usual 1099-DIV/INT, including consolidated 1099. Budgeted time was 5 hours total. I have yet to get my return reviewed.
