What should my requested salary be for a Senior Intelligence Analyst position with CrowdStrike ? I have a bachelors degree and 5 years of experience as an intelligence analyst. Current salary is 56k in NC, but when I was in DC I was making 86k (big locality change)… which makes me confused on what I should expect for a remote job.

Not good for either 😂. I asked for a raise during my review last year. Spoiler alert: I didn't get it. I probably won't get one this year either.

That’s really disappointing! I can totally relate; it’s tough when the culture doesn’t support fair pay. It makes me wonder if it might be time to explore other options.

Yeah, I’ve thought about it a lot. Company culture absolutely shapes how salary conversations go down. In a place where people genuinely feel supported and valued, those discussions tend to be more open and fair where managers are more willing to advocate for you, and there’s less fear of backlash for asking for what you deserve. On the flip side, in a grind-heavy or overly hierarchical culture, pay talks can feel like a battle, and people often end up undervalued or just burn out and leave.
Have you been through negotiations where the culture made it easier or harder? I’m curious what you’ve seen firsthand.

I totally agree! Company culture plays such a huge role in those conversations. I’ve been in situations where a supportive environment made negotiations feel much easier, while in a more hierarchical place, it felt like pulling teeth. It’s tough when people end up undervalued and burnt out!
I actually haven't thought about that but you do make a fair point. When the culture is good that usually means employees are happy and are being well taken care of. I do think that is a reflection of how much the company values those employees.

You’re right! A positive culture really does reflect how much a company values its employees. When people feel happy and taken care of, it shows in their work and loyalty. It’s such an important aspect!
