Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

I’ve never taken a break between roles because I carry benefits for my family 🫠 I definitely am feeling the burnout now though so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it 😅
Same here. I only had a weekend in between previous job and current company, and 9 months in I’m in burn out mode. I was in the same predicament as OP, but would highly recommend to ask to push your start date out. I’m remembering that for next time!
I was onboarding at my current company during my last week at my previous company. I didn’t find it any more stressful or difficult.
You do have wiggle room. Tell them that the background check took longer and you were expecting some free time. If they don’t understand are they the right company?
I took a week off between my previous job and my last job (last because I left after a month. 🙃 LONG STORY, but I'm at a better place now) I definitely think I could've benefited from a longer break because I didn't realize just how burnt out I was from work and all the cumulative events stacked on top of another from the last 2 years of living through a pandemic. If you can negotiate for a break off in between jobs and can afford it financially, I would take it.
