Completed onsite interviews for the TAM role and recruiter gave me feedback that my technical depth wasn’t up to par for the role but my googleness/leadership and GCA interview feedback was stellar so they plan to propose me for Cloud PM roles instead. I’ve been the exclusive appellate attorney at my office for five years as an associate and 11 months as a “partner.” No equity partners. My appeals come from other partners. Once a case comes to me on appeal, I handle everything from beginning to end. But, I still receive no extra credit or origination credit for my appellate work because the clients belong to other partners. How does this work at other firms? How is credit for the case handled once it is transferred to the appellate group?

Im a first year and this hasn’t happened to me at my firm and they tell us not to cut our own time, but my first firm (short stint, small firm) did this to me allll the time and made me feel guilty — so just curious if this has happened to anyone in big law.

Foreign LLM student here. I plan to take the NY bar exam in February. I’m thinking of taking a bar prep course (most likely Barbri). They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course. The difference in price is substantial – 2.5k for the traditional course vs 6k for the extended one. Any thoughts/recommendations on which one I should take? In case it is helpful, I come from a civil law country. Thanks!
