I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. First day was yesterday. Had no communication about when or where to show up, sat in an empty office for about half an hour before a couple people finally showed. No phone call or email. Sent an email to the founder, no response. I could easily get my old job back if wanted.

Deciding on a career path

I feel like my brain works like a consultant, and I would enjoy consulting, but I also looove all things finance & investing. While I don’t necessarily have extensive experience in the field (most of what I know is self taught, my major is accounting), I want to get involved in it somehow and learn more.

I currently work in audit, I’m not sure what exit opportunities are an option for me for the investing/finance industry. Feel like chances are are slim. Any advice?
