I am currently working as an Instructional Designer but planning to transition into DevOps/Cloud. I’ve started learning Docker.

For those in this field:
1. What are the key areas/skills I should build a strong foundation in for an easier transition?
2. Any learning paths, certs, or projects you’d recommend for someone making this shift?
3. Looking back at your own journey, what would you focus on first if you had to start again?

What is the average salary for cloud engineer with 5 yr of experience?

I have 10 years of experience. Mostly in Unix, C++ and Visual C++ and MS SQL. I developed interest in cloud computing as like many others and was able to clear AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solution Architect Associate and Professional, AWS Security. Along with these I was able to clear 8 Azure certifications as well: 3 fundamentals, Azure Security, Azure Developer, Azure DevOps and Azure Architect.
Now my main question, can I try to switch on Cloud Architect or some other similar cloud roles?
