Ask them to take a hike, you are not on pay rolls and not required to do any selling or client interviews. Stay firm else you will work in two companies while being paid by one. And yes if you aren't placed you will be turned down.

Its risky. Current Organization's codes Violations on multiple level.

Simply say No. No one can force you to do so, this is illegal.

Thanks Guys.

Having an off day already and wondering how so many people seem to be able to keep it all together so easily. I have friends and family that just handle everything with such grace and never seem to drop the ball or have to scramble to find time or energy to put into all of their priorities/obligations. Why is it so hard for me to even remember to schedule regular maintenance things for house/car/health, etc.? Maybe this career is just draining my cognitive capacity. I'm so tired.

Anyone here who started their consulting careers later in life? Always seeing posts about how young people make it to P... wondering about the other stories. I started as a C at 29 (yes, unfortunately, I fall into the bucket of exp hire hired at a lower level...), made M at 33. Doing well but also feeling like I’m already too old to aim to be a P. Hoping for some perspectives.

Left a job in government (prosecution), currently at a mid-size firm. I’m really starting to not only hate law firm life, but the practice of law generally. Is this part of the transition? I left my last job because I was on-call 24/7. Now I’m 24/7 again but due to billable requirements. I have no hobbies, no free time, and only spend about an hour/day with my kids. Not sure I want this life. At least I had insane PTO for govt work.
