This is one of my favorite couples from the show. While Steven was quite immature during the show, it seemed like he was just young and wanted to be a good dad. They've been together as a family for a while now, he has taken up yoga to manage his temper issues, she has a career on the side as a photographer and they seem happy. I hope their social media is a true representation of their lives and I hope they are truly happy together with their little son 😊

I’ve been a paralegal for about 30 years in private law firmS. As I get older, I feel like it’s time for a semi-career change. Either an office manager position or perhaps a corporate position where I can travel a little since my kids are grown and I’m an empty-nester. Has anyone made this type of transition? Advise welcome. TIA

Additional Posts in American Indian/ Native American/ Indigenous Teachers and Professionals

It would be ideal to connect with other Indigenous teachers and professionals to network and locate resources that are equitable and work well for our American Indian youth and teach about our various Cultures as Indigenous people.

I live in North Carolina and work in an urban high school here, which happens to be one of the largest school systems in North Carolina. It never ceases to amaze me that North Carolina has the largest tribe (Lumbee Tribe) east of the Mississippi River, yet where I live, because it is an urban area, which does not fall into the service area of any local tribe; many residents here still do not know anything about us as Indigenous people.

Wingapo! (Welcome!)

This is a community for American Indian/ Native American/ Indigenous teachers and professionals to network, share resources, and ask for advice.

This platform is open to discuss aspects of our Culture, tribal customs, and equitable practices for our Indigenous youth in the schools and for us who work in the educational system and other professional work environments.

Introduce yourself and mention your tribal affiliation(s), if you would like.

Kenah (Thank you),

Rod

Hello, I am a Caucasian teacher. How do I incorporate Indigenous culture/history/tooics into Computer Science class?

At the school where I work, there are a few other Indigenous teachers and there are not very many Indigenous students either. How is the work environment for Native American people where you all work? Are you recognized as Native, in your places of employment? For those who are teachers, what resources have you found that work well for Indigenous youth or resources which teach about our Indigenous youth?
