Hi, I've recently been applying to a lot of tech companies in hopes of landing a more sales-orientated job. For my job, I service 200+ accounts monthly generating under half a million a year. Along with servicing the accounts I also perform the tasks of, AR collection, direct sales, generating leads, building and managing customer relationships, and also managing my client's inventory.

Only after 5 weeks I am going to join TCS. In my offer letter it is mentioned I am selected at "TCS Kolkata"; but till now I have not received any information/details/call related to my project yet. I’ve started to block recruiters on LinkedIn for the last month. I can’t tell you how many just send out some generic email with a job that has nothing to do with mine. I understand the pressures of recruiting / smile and dial culture but at least be in the ball park. The best is when you speak to them and they go “oh this job requires 7-10 years exp, so you have that?” Just LOOK AT THE RESUME. I’ll probably never work with an agency ever again after the last few months.

Need to vent..Started a new role after being laid off this summer. Grateful for a job and a very desirable industry, but annoyed that I didn’t have any leverage to negotiate, so my salary is much lower than before (and role isn’t great either). I want to switch internally but don’t know if I can wait a year. Can’t shake the feeling of wanting to get back to where I was but on the other hand feel slimy for continuing to interview and ashamed at the prospect of being a job hopper. Any advice?
