Seems like this is a good place to get a reality check on what I am looking for in a position. I am trying to leave my current firm. I am a Senior Tax Accountant. Been the only Senior for a year. Currently make $76k. Had a bonus of $4500 this year. Not sure what the bonus is going to be next year (or if there will be any) since they are moving to a new bonus plan that is supposed to be more "fair and generous" We have a Safe harbor 401k plan. So get an automatic 3% contribution to 401K.

My lawyer mentioned that I could start working with my new employer on h1b transfer receipt “if I choose to do so”. Or I could wait for the actual transfer to happen(premium processing) and wait for physical copy. What should I do?
I have been through interviews with an employer for a controller position. I have been told that a background check and medical test will be done. Does anyone know what kind of medical test may be done. I don’t do any kind of drugs. The only thing is that I am diabetic since last 15 years and not sure if that will be an issue for any company to hire. Otherwise I am fine. Just trying to understand if they are trying to find other than drugs ( probably) .
As a Christian (who is respectful and supportive of all religions but am happy I found something that resonates with me) I never understood the "religious exemption" towards vaccine mandates. If you dont want to get vaccinated, thats on you but please don't bring religion into the equation.

I’m a manager making roughly $120K, but am interested in exploring different career paths. Most recently, Commercial Real Estate has struck me as an interest. I’m comfortable with the idea of taking a step back in my career (in terms of salary and role level) as long as it isn’t a hard reset (starting again from the very bottom). Any recommendations on how to pivot effectively without encountering severe financial setbacks?
Anyone consistently sign multi year leases just to get the rent down? During covid I signed a 2.5 year with 6 months free to guarantee the price and am thinking of doing it again when it expires

Hi Fishes, I applied for a role in Accenture. Gave the skill assessment test and also the technical interview. After the interview, the HR called within one week and asked for the details and expected CTC. I gave the required information. But after that the portal is still now showing as Interview/Interviewing. On checking with the person I got referral, I got to know that they are saying that I haven't attended my skill assessment. There might be any glitch. What should I do as of now?
