Hey folks. Question for the majority of us still under the big 3 holding co’s...are raises a thing anymore? I’ve been at my (smaller) agency almost 5yrs and got one raise (a nice $12k bump) during that time—is that sufficient? Is one increase in that span normal? I also recognize being somewhere 5 years is rare these days. The honeymoon period at any agency seems to be 2.5—3yrs before bolting. Not complaining, just asking. Have y’all been getting raises/bumps in any kind of regular cycle? Thx.

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. Hello, I was recently let go from my firm for not being able to pass the series 10 exam. I passed the 9 and have my SIE, 7, and 63. Are there any jobs out there that require the 9 but not the 10? All the jobs I can find require them both but I’d like to use my 9. Thanks for any advice!

Tomorrow they are requiring masks again and I was almost in tears when I found out. We have been mask free (recommended) since June and I feel like we are being muzzled again. I am vaccinated, frustrated, and have been off of antidepressants since March. I don’t even want to go into work tomorrow. Anything is better than being virtual and I am trying to look at the bright side, but moving backward still burns. We have parent-teacher conferences coming up and I am hoping that it’s temporary.

I have 4 yrs of exp as full stack developer and my current CTC is 15 lpa and notice period is of 3 months. I got an offer from another firm for 24lpa but they have shared the offer letter of DOJ after 2 months and asked me to negotiate my notice period or look for buyout. What should I do in this case? Should I connect with my current hr to negotiate? Cause I tried convincing the new hr to share the offer letter of DOJ after 3 months but she is not in the favour of that.

Off topic, Can anyone please suggest me how to prepare for AWS cloud job, my current project is not related to cloud, i have +2 years of production support in linux and currently holding aws practitioner certificate.

I have 10 years of experience. Mostly in Unix, C++ and Visual C++ and MS SQL. I developed interest in cloud computing as like many others and was able to clear AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solution Architect Associate and Professional, AWS Security. Along with these I was able to clear 8 Azure certifications as well: 3 fundamentals, Azure Security, Azure Developer, Azure DevOps and Azure Architect.
Now my main question, can I try to switch on Cloud Architect or some other similar cloud roles?
