Tomorrow they are requiring masks again and I was almost in tears when I found out. We have been mask free (recommended) since June and I feel like we are being muzzled again. I am vaccinated, frustrated, and have been off of antidepressants since March. I don’t even want to go into work tomorrow. Anything is better than being virtual and I am trying to look at the bright side, but moving backward still burns. We have parent-teacher conferences coming up and I am hoping that it’s temporary.

Workout before (4:30 am) or after (6:30ish) work?

My psychiatrist today revealed to me that I may have ADHD, still a hypothesis that he is still exploring but from my personal experiences and discussions with therapist, it seems likely.

One example of personal experience is my ongoing prep for case studies as I'm interviewing with a number of firms. I do struggle to keep focus and generally take a bit longer to finish them, specifically the structuring of the case. Does anybody else feel the same way and any recommendations to overcome this?

I joined a new team and have noticed something off with my Director over the last months (slurring speech, no show to calls or even full days of work). I finally asked a colleague about it today because I’m concerned about my Director. She confirmed that she’s noticed the same over the last few years, but no one ever says anything. In confidence she told me she can often smell alcohol. How can I help? I feel helpless. I’ve already lost someone to addiction and I can’t ignore this. Any advice?

Just here to say I’m so thankful we have this safe space. People who aren’t diagnosed generally have misconceptions about ADHD and its symptoms, and I’m so grateful we have this bowl to seek help, learn from one another, and sometimes just vent! Question about inclusion…. I’ve been teaching inclusion for 5 years so I’m still a newb, but a first year coworker of mine said she got points off on her observation because her kids were scattered in the classroom and she was having to move from kid to kid to assist. While I see the point of putting them together for convenience, I don’t agree with this at all! To me this is like singling them out by putting them all together instead of INCLUDED amongst peers. How are you taking care of yourself if you have depression? All of my ways of staying grounded and motivated were attached to my routine and the fulfillment from work. I feel like I’m losing all motivation and struggling more the longer remote learning goes on.

I’m exhausted.. Beyond stressed and feeling like I’m not doing good enough for admin. My mental health has been in the tank this year. honestly no one on campus is available to help or listen

Are you being asked to help out for absent teachers or taken on extra duties because of the teacher shortage? Are you getting paid extra? What perks are you receiving for helping out? Lastly, is it volunteer or volunteer-told? How are you all managing?

How do y’all deal with anxiety? It’s not Job-related, I just have GAD and depression (which gets worse in the winter). I see a therapist, I’m on meds, etc, but I feel like my work suffers.

I recently went on antidepressants for my anxiety and it has helped tremendously. I felt like I was in a constant state of panic and anger before. Meds are available if you need them!
