Not gonna lie…maybe it’s bc I’m reading this at 3am, but I had to do a double take to understand why you’d report your boss’s dog or cat…🤣 but then realized you meant the other meaning of “pet”
Did you report in writing or through an official, documented channel? Or just verbally to the manager?
Report to HR and/or use the ethics hot line to report. If retaliated against document everything and go to the EEOC and/or get an employment relations attorney.
Confrontation with her. If I didn't report or catch this I surely would have been thrown under the bus.. I didn't want to report. I hate telling on people. But I couldn't overlook this. What could possibly make a manager overlook multiple reports from multiple people over long periods of time just cause they are up eachothers butts? I'm anxious I'll become a target now cause the manager will probably tell her and she will be passive-aggressive or run me down. Yet staff working here all are united in seeing and being upset with her neglect of duties and patients. I'm of the mind now to not worry about the results and have minimal interactions with her.. and just try and keep my mind on the patients
Sounds like you made the right decision. If any issues come up for you I’d find a way to report all the other complaints people had previously as well so they can clearly see the pattern
Pet?
Definitely don't use the word pet in a report - it's really confusing what you mean. I didn't know you were talking about a human until this response.
So not quite clear why pets are in a medical facility, but that is not something you can mitigate on your own, it required policy enforcement. By writing an official incident report without extending a professional courtesy by having a quick chat with your boss about your concern first, you are making a stand against your boss and it will be seen that way. Sounds like you do not like or respect your offending boss and conscientiously intended to rock the boat and now you are regretting your actions. No solution for guilt.
I think you may need to re read lol
