People who left audit for tax or consulting - how did you know that It would suit you better and what differences make the long hours more enjoyable? I’ve already rebounded once from a smaller firm bc I was bored, and I know without a doubt that I’m not ready for an industry job... so I guess I’m trying to figure out if another service line would suit me. The problem is that I have no experience outside of audit. HELP :’)

My partner threatened to leave me if I don't stop working because I'm completely overtaxed and have become a nightmare to be around, and we don't need the money. This is obvious a terrible thing for them to say, but it was in the moment and they expressed they didn't mean it as a real threat afterwards. Other than telling me they should go to therapy, should I be considering taking time off? I love my job and sometimes I think it's actually the only thing that's providing a modicum of sanity.

In Accenture offer Letter, I didn't get the pay structure, instead HR told me that it can be planned by employee only on the first day of joining. How does it works? I got level 8 .

I’m a bit newer to data science and recently read through a few academic case studies on ethical fairness in ML/modeling. Would love to start a thread to hear some more from data scientist/ML perspective.
The most harmful example I came across was bias in ML for the criminal justice system.

I’m thinking of turning down a job offer without anything (or anything full-time) lined up. Tell me if I’m being stupid, given the current economy, or if it’s better to hold out.
Context: I was reduced from full-time to part-time freelance at my old (current?) job. The place where I have an offer is very young, doesn’t have a creative director (I would be answering to marketing), and the offer is well below what I believe is average for midlevel in the city they’re in.
