Been 6 months since my i140 was Approved. Just started my 5th year of H1B, priority date not current and I’m from India.

Regarding the gun issue in America, here is my thought process: 1) i view guns as tools that enable someone to hurt a lot of people very quickly, similar to how nuclear warheads could be considered WMD for nations. 2) i do not think America has more mentally ill people per capita then other nations, or more people willing to kill others, but access / availability of guns mainly lead to the higher number of gun casualties. 3) constitutional rights are important but amendments exist for a reason

I think this is going to be a pr disaster and a source of anti-metaverse memes https://www.adweek.com/commerce/miller-lite-super-bowl-ad-exclusively-metaverse/ Decentraland doesn’t seem to have many active users from my occasional visits, feels like second life with crypto and similar graphics. Driving a bunch of people there with console quality expectations to stand around and talk to 4chan randos to watch a commercial is going to go south. Decentraland is not the metaverse.

First consumer-targeted AR glasses are available at Verizon. Sound like they’re a bit of a flop on the app ecosystem side of things but still cool tech and way, way smaller than the Hololens and Magic Leap. Will take a while to get there. Get the impression that Apple’s v1 glasses will be VR with AR features (ie full occlusion) before releasing something like these

Adidas just teased their new NFT collaboration with Bored Ape Yacht Club on Twitter with a link to a landing page. Interesting that it doesn’t include a mention of their integration into Sandbox.Game (enter that URL into browser to visit, doesn’t render in Fishbowl for some reason) which is launching in Alpha today. Snoop, Smurfs, Walking Dead also have integrations into Sanbox.

If you have an Oculus Quest you can play Facebook’s first foray into the metaverse now. They’re pretty fun toys and compared to other VR headsets aren’t too expensive ($300 @ Best Buy). Get one and expense it for work research into metaverse 😂

Anyone get an Oculus over the holidays? Oculus app was in the top spot christmas day so looks like lots did. I have mine in a box and am too lazy to dig it out but feel like I should so I can try Facebook’s Horizon Metaverse thing. Hopefully I don’t get VR groped in there like that one lady
