Applying to roles within the same federal agency. I know you need one year within the probationary period, but can I apply to a higher GS level? For example, if I'm GS 9, receive a promotion to GS 11 at the end of probation, would i be able to apply to GS 13 roles if I'm qualified? I’ve been lurking at the net worth/savings posts on here. I started out negative and am still negative and working on it. Is it common amongst minorities or just me? My folks couldn’t help.

Day rate v. Hourly I currently accepted a rate for 20 hours a week, which I don’t like doing because I always end up working more. How do you define your hours in these instances and make it known that they aren’t paying you to be available all day long?

I am booked at an agency that is filled with toxic people and I got offered a freelance job at a really great agency. I am two weeks into a four week booking but they said that usually keep freelancers on for a really long time. Right now I am only working on edits. I’ve been working with a founder/small biz freelancing as their digital producer for a little bit. I’m having issues lately because they won’t give me a budget for content they want to make for their site/Instagram. I’m worried with the budget gate keeping that we’re going to burn bridges with contacts, especially now that we’re dipping into my personal contacts for content collaboration. Is this normal? How do I get them to give me a budget to work from?
