My husband got hurt and can’t work for 6 months. He’s a 1099 contractor so has no benefits or anything to supplement income. I never even thought about this but is there insurance you can buy in the future in case something like this happens? Like disability for 1099 workers?
Silly question but have any of you ever had health insurance pay for a personal trainer or nutritionist? How did you do it? I'm a healthy weight but interested in seeking these services
What’s the typical salary / benefits package for a managing director at Deloitte (consulting, not accounting)?
I am just enrolling in 401k, what does it mean to max out 401k contribution? I googled and it says max contribution is 19k, so should I do 19k / my salary and contribute that %?
Ex-kpmg employee here so can’t post in that bowl but does anyone here know how pension plan works? I was vested based on time with firm but does the money stay there til retirement or can you request lump sum payout and invest it how you want? Thanks!

Piggy backing off the question a few posts down: Company offers Roth 401k and a traditional. I make 75k and it's my first year out of college. I'm leaning towards maxing the Roth 401k. Any suggestions
What would you choose if you were in your mid 20s- A great company in a very tiny city or a relatively unknown company in a big city. Let's assume the pay, benefits etc are great for both.
My wife and I would like to retire at age 50 (or earlier). We’re in our early 30s. We’ve been maxing out 401ks and IRAs for years and started contributing 20k a year into a taxable account to start filling the gap since we can’t access 401k until 55. At what point should we be reducing 401k/IRAs and redirecting to the taxable account? Otherwise our income balloons late in life. Curious how others are managing this.
Switched jobs in the middle of the year. Will my 401k contributions automatically cap off or do I need to manually stop payments around the time I hit the fed max limit?
Can someone explain to me what my cost would be if I took a 50k cares act withdrawal from my 401k? It says there is no 10% early withdrawal penalty but the income tax will have to be paid. If I withdraw 50k how much will I actually take home after applicable fees and NYC taxes? I'm trying to figure out if it is worth dipping into my retirement. Do anyone have any experience with this? Thank you.
Does Accenture’s 401K plan allow backdoor or mega backdoor? If so, whats the process look like?
Interview tomorrow. Gotta convince these industry folks that I really want to make a career out of this and am not planning a slow escape from corporate life 😃😇🤓😱🤔😣
For those of you who are successful in your interview process and landed on an offer, did you feel like you ace every question they asked in in the interview and articulate perfectly? I’m a bit nervous now Bc I felt like I could have spoken better 😭😭😭😭
I’m an Analytics Consultant looking for industry roles as a data analyst/BI Developer. I’ve had a few recruiters and job postings ask directly for a dashboard sample. I obviously can’t give them anything I’ve worked on because of client’s proprietary data and NDAs. Has anyone run into this problem before? Did you end up making a dashboard with public data solely for industry interviews?
Can someone recommend a good frame for the actual CPA license printout? Please send the link if possible. I want to frame it on my home office wall.
Revamping my agency's terrible internship program. For those of you who have had a great internships, what made it so great? What were the most valuable things you learned? If you had a not-so-great experience, what could you have done without? What do you wish you would've learned? Thanks in advance!
Blunt message I give to 1st years: "Everyone assumes you have the skills and knowledge of a toddler. Don't talk about what classes you took or your internship. Say and be open to anything."
Most awkward Uber stories? My uber driver showed me a picture of her baby. Um, it was a doll.
Just got a big raise (50%+) starting July 1st that is going to move me out of income limits for direct Roth IRA contributions (prior to raise was under the limit) even with maxed pretax 401k and HSA - however I am already halfway through contributions ($3000). What options do I have to address these excess contributions?
If it's not requested in the job announcement and it's not required to complete the form, do you have to submit your transcript when applying to MBB?
Interviewing is stressful...
Applied for an SM position at pwc and interviewers mentioned that it is for an SM position as well. But the offer came out as M. Recruiter said it is just a title and doesn’t have any implications but more I look, it does look like an downgrade. Is this common? I am currently an SM and it is in tech consulting area.

Partner community, it’s interesting to see so much opacity and variation around partner comp...for the benefit of the community at large, do you mind sharing; (1) company, (2) Years as Partner / Equivalent, (3) cash comp (base + bonus) and (4) % Commission? Fully understand that “commission” is not the standard by any means but if you could express your comp beyond cash as % of revenue sold, I think we can cut through the noise a bit. TIA!
Hi guys, a prior boss now friend of mine is a partner within the big 4. He wants to ask what is an average salary of a Partner in the Big 4 (Cyber/Tech) with 20 + years of experience since he knows he is underpaid. Anyone got some ranges ? This shall help him renegotiate. Thanks!
Hi everyone! I will be going through my first whiteboard/case-style interview for the first time (I was converted from an intern to full time at my current company). This marketing associate position would require some level of excel knowledge specifically on Pivot Tables & VLookUps for email campaign analysis. What’s your experience with interviews like these, and any tips for a first-timer? Thank you in advance!
