Fishbowl app on your mobile

I also just joined SF and opted to get a second phone. Primary reason is that personal devices have to be enrolled in the MDM policy which opened up my phone more than I wanted to SF.
This^. Actually enjoying separation of work and personal mobile. I can completely disconnect from work.
If you port your number then they own it. They don't have to give it back if you leave. This applies to any company
Salesforce policy is that you have the opportunity to move your number back to your own plan when you separate or during your phone upgrade cycle. You have to raise a concierge case to authorize release of the number and complete the transfer with the phone provider your SF phone uses for service.
I've also never worked for a company that would not release a phone number upon separation.
Also opted for second. Hate having two phones but if I need to leave one behind there is only winner there, so it’s great not to have work email etc on personal phone anymore.
Honestly I wish I did the 2 phone thing, I don’t think the service is that good on the plan, you can’t use some apps like TikTok and the security settings are high.
