McKinsey & Company Bain & Company For all the MBB folks out there, is there an optimal time to apply as an experienced hire? I know hiring can be slow once new campus hires join and onboard since there are a lot of people waiting to be staffed on projects. Outside of that time frame, are there any others that are typically less advantageous? Would be applying to entry level positions if that matters. Thanks in advance!

Pick Strategy. As you grow in your career you can later shift into Account. Much harder the other way around.
Whether it's a consultancy or advertising is less important than your excellence. If you are excellent and personable you will get paid in time. Just keep at it.
Good luck!
You have to have some background/ experience in order to be a consultant
Not true - MBB hires straight out of university

Not at all. Itβs very hard to get a visa and most do it through O1 or L1
@OP, a couple thoughts:
Marketing, branding, and digital has historically been the purview of advertising agencies, not consultancies. If you want to do those things, look for an agency or an agency that is part of a larger consultancy that does that work.
Also, not sure what creative industries/type of woke you actually want to do, so you should think about that too. What kind of problems do you want to tackle? What kind of role on a team do you think you could utilize your background for? That's not super clear here.
What is βenoughβ? Is this based on cost of living or on expectations?
Look at places like Prophet, Interbrand, Lippincott. Happy to chat further, the salary bands at these places vary but I can tell you definitely at least some firms pay more than Big 4 (including Deloitte) albeit less than MBB.
Iβd pick strategy for sure for your internship.
