Non-cotton layers. A down puffy. Fleece hat. Comfortable wool socks.
Depending on how strenuous the hike is, you may get really hot. I recommend layers. Wool running tops (long sleeve) work well as a first layer. A half zip second layer + down vest. Gloves and hat. That may be enough. Definitely wool socks too.
A flash, gloves and a hat
To add to D1’s great comments. Prep for the weather on the hike not the drive out. Excluding precipitation/ high winds, dress for temp 15 degrees warmer. If it’s going to be wet, bring extra layers.
Have you used a thermal layer? Thermal tops and / or pants ?

A double layer jacket, hat, gloves, face shield, and make sure you have a lightweight long sleeve shirt underneath. Most likely you are going to get hot during the hike and take a lot off for part of it. Bring a backpack as well so you can shove the removed layers into
Merino wool base layer and wool socks.
