I’m going to join LTIMindtree soon. I’m currently in a full WFH setup and due to personal dependencies, I won’t be able to manage office work. Is there any possibility or process to request WFH after joining?

Transitioning from com. lit into tax controversy?

I have a tax LLM and started my career out of law school doing M&A tax at a big4. After 9 months, I got out of big4 transactional hell and into whatever litigation I could find. I now practice commercial lit but would welcome the opportunity to eventually transition into tax controversy (which I wasn’t able to do before). Does my commercial litigation “break” hurt my prospect? How long can I stay in com lit without hurting my chances even more?

Are there any fully remote lawfirms, ie you don't have to live in the state they have offices? I recently left a large lawfirm to go in-house which came with a huge paycut that is not going to be sustainable long term, but needed a remote position to be able to move. I attended a client interview last week and was selected for the same. Now they are asking to join within a day or two. I'm having my mom's surgery this week. How to safely refuse to join this client project for at least 10 days. I can't take leave for 10 days.
