How many of you are building side gigs in addition to your usual work?

Looking for SM role in consulting firms in data analytics space. Skillsets are data management and cloud. Any referrals would be appreciated. Preferred location London.

How long does it take for you all to commute to work normally? I am moving to Woking soon and am looking to land a consulting gig in London. It will take me 10-20 min to get to the train station, and from then on the train to Waterloo takes 30 mins. Not sure if that’s going to be too long a daily commute by UK standard?

I’m a 5th year associate in big law. I’ve always kept partnership in mind as an option, but last year I spent some time thinking about the future of my career and think I may want to go in-house (although I haven’t completely ruled out partnership). What should I be focusing my time on in the next couple of years? For IH counsel who transitioned from big law, what are some things you wish you had done before leaving big law? And where should I look to get a feel for the types of jobs out there?

What are the next step after H1B petition approval? Do we have to book visa appointment or company does that on our behalf?
