So criminal to layoff first year staff.
i know this isn’t super helpful but just wanna say you’re not alone i’m also a staff 1 that got laid off so i feel for you
State agencys don't pay great but they are almost always hiring, because they don't pay great. Not sure what state your in but I'm sure they will be hiring in the larger cities.
This won’t be too helpful, but you may need to take an emergency “job” to stay in the country while you find the career position you are looking for. I’m sorry this happened to you.
Been there. It's tough to be on H1B visa and possibly waiting for greencard application. Good luck.
Have you tried Baker Tilly?
Wow cause when I was there that was all they were hiring. I’m no longer there, finally gained my peace of mind back.
Reach out to people you worked with and ask them if they know of people in other firms or industry that can provide a referral for you.
Make a list of companies, go on LinkedIn and search for your college alumni that work at those companies and ask to connect with them and talk to them. If they agree to talk with you over a call, talk to them about their role and their company and if it’s something you find you’d fit in, politely ask for a referral. You’re on a time crunch so you gotta make as many connections as you can on LinkedIn and using other ways.
Try another audit/regional firm.
Arent EY need audit staff? Why would they lay off staffs?
What happened? They normally don’t go hard on first years, heck, I’ve never given NTP to anyone that’s first year unless they punched me or just refused to work.
You get to pick a choose who if the engagement don’t let you know. Usually they send out an email letting you know who you need to request LEAD from but if not then you can pick whoever in those 3-4 engagements
Try Rodl & Partner. International firm with 10 offices in the US.
Davis Martindale if you're in London ON
Same situation here. Staff 1 currently on H1-B and just got laid off. Please let me know if anyone knows of companies willing to hire on H1-B
