CFE is used for Fraud (obviously), it’s not all that difficult. It’s a 4 part test you have to take within a month’s timeframe but you can do it at home. Just take the CFE study course and you’ll be find. Not sure if the firm will pay for it, the student discount is huge if that’s an option.
What departments do you typically see having this cert?
It is pretty self-explanatory. The most common department that would have it is a forensics practice at a big 4.
If you have a CPA, you can also look into CFF. CFF is only for CPAs issued by AICPA if that means anything to you.
Ey paid for my license renewal even thou I was in audit. CFE exam is a piece of cake. Unless you are into forensic accounting, law & reg, fraud, AML, Inspector general type of work, and etc, I wouldn’t waste time getting it.
Federal government agencies love the CFE so that's where you will see the most CFEs in forensic roles in the federal government
