Hi everyone. I work in the life science department and my company is predominately male. I’m having a hard time getting myself and my work noticed. Higher up management only seems to give the most credits to the males. Yet they barely do their job well. Any tips?

I would send a weekly email to your manager on the wins for your week. Concise, factual email.

Run a personal experiment to see how leadership knows about your co-worker’s work. You might find they are taking smoke breaks together or they are playing telephone. If you tell nick, everyone knows.

If you can, also see how your coworkers are working. Have they simplified a process that is saving them time so it looks like they aren’t working? Are they delegating more?

Speak up. If you’re chastised or reprimanded for presenting the facts and standing up for yourself, then that company is not the company for you (or a proponent for any woman)

My ASM is lazy and is incapable of doing the easiest basic tasks with recruitment. She receives all my end of day updates, is cc’d on all emails, makes me fill out 5 repetitive excel/smart sheet, and joins all my meetings but she still wants to call having me 5x daily about updates. I’m always the one to go to if other recruiters fail to meet client deadlines and cleaning up recruiters mistakes. How do I even handle this to begin with?

Hello, I am looking to make a career change that starts at a minimum 75K salary. The economy is tough right now and I can no longer afford to stay in my current role. I have a bachelors degree in Sociology with experience in managed care, utilization management, & clinical admin.. Does anyone have any suggestions for a possible higher paying career that I would be qualified for based on my background?

Sometimes my anxiety is so intense I can’t clearly articulate my thoughts and I have to laugh it off like I’m tired. But I’m not sleepy.
