Hi Everyone! I've been in consulting for the past year and some change and absolutely love it. As I'm nearing the end of graduate school, I'm looking to transition into private equity. Any advice, recommendations, and/or referrals would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Nice! PE loves consultants with strong analytical skills, so highlighting your deal experience (if any) or financial modeling skills could help. Networking is super important, so connecting with people in the field might open some doors and is probably the best way to get an "in."

My best advice would definitely be to network as much as you can and try to get referrals. Referrals can often help you get an interview if not get your foot in the door. Networking is so so important.

I have been approached with an opportunity at JP Morgan Chase for their private client advisor role. The book is about 30M all in. I am currently an experienced hybrid asset manager wholesaler and have experience in advising as well. Curious about the opportunity with JPM and if it’s worth it. I currently make about 160k and if JPM would give me a high draw for the first 3 years to build, and if it’s feasible to sustain that 160+ there.

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?

I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

Background: got a promotion at current company that didn't come with sufficient increase . After stating my case I was told it would be evaluated next October, which is what prompted the initial job search.

Current TC 103K [88/15], offer 125k base [+discretionary bonus].
