Are these companies being rational in such a hot market when it comes to hiring? 2. Any thoughts on the quality of these teams relative to one another?

I'm leaving Deloitte (consultant - capital markets) for an analyst role in M&A (in house) in a relatively small company. How long should I stay and how hard is it gonna be if I want to join an IB or rejoin a consultancy ?
