Best suggestion is go with the flow For time being and use this as an opportunity by gradually explaining client and change clients perspective with your knowledge in a polite and factual way if you know what you are thinking will be better for them and let client come back to your leadership .
It will create your value as well.
Just going opposite to flow will harm you only no one else.

Welcome to consulting !! Domestic clients are often like this bud !! You need to act as a bridge between client and our leadership. It’s going to help on your stakeholders management. Saying yes to what client says is one thing and putting ourself in client shoes is another thing. Try to practice the second one, it will be less frustrating eventually and you will get a hand of it.
Koi hand nahi job change karo indian work culture is worst!!
