I work as a Solutions Engineer ( presales engineer) in a product company. A recruiter from HCL software reached out for a presales engineer opportunity and I interviewed and received an offer.
The designation in the offer letter seems to be mentioned as "Senior software engineer II" which is not related to my field. When I questioned this, the recruiter assured me it was a common practice to align roles with their internal banding system.

Is this normal ?

I’ve been a management consultant for 3.5 yrs. I’ve done 18 months of internal sustainability work such as building our sustainability practice, initiatives to get B CORP, SBTI, tracked carbon emissions, company campaigns for sustainability awareness, sustainability strategy. I want to move into a sustainability consulting role. Which area of sustainability consulting should I look at? Are there any courses or certifications I should do?
