Esim- Airalo
This
US international plans are an absolute scam
If you’re staying more than a few days, just do an eSIM. It’s easy and cheap.
I originally used orange holiday eSIM for a vacation a few years back. Nice part is you can actually keep the line and just top up everytime I go on a trip.

Would stick to AT&T at $10 per day. They used to have an offer where you would be billed only 10 days or $100 per billing cycle.
They still do

How long are you traveling? The SIM card is probably cheaper but many services only provide data, not voice so you have to use WhatsApp or something like that for voice. I decided to just be lazy and pay the $10/day. If you are traveling more than 10 days, Verizon has a $100 monthly rate but you have to select it. It’s not automatic like their $10/day rate. I’m not sure about ATT.
After looking at all options, I decided to go with Holafly. Thanks for your suggestions!

If you get a an eSIM, what happens to the calls and texts that go to your original number? I assume that if you forward your original number to your eSIM, you will get charged for an international call. What about texts, how do you get those?
Airalo all day
ATT has bumped it up to $12/day. I was there for 2.5weeks and couldn’t stomach spending so much. Bought an unlocked phone and an eSIM for < $30 from Holafly that worked very well.
$30 vs $96. Seems like an easy choice.
Move to T-Mobile
Second this. It’s free right?
Make sure your AT&T device is carrier unlocked by AT&T, otherwise you won’t be able to add an eSIM. HolaFly is great value IMO. You’ll be happy with your decision and probably faster speeds than whomever AT&T ‘s roaming partner
In UK now. Used Sim Local eSIM for $19. 80gb of data and local calls for 30 days. No brainer
Going for 8 days.
If it’s a personal / vacation can’t you just use WhatsApp?
Need to use it for maps, reservations for restaurants etc
American who now lives in the UK. I used giffgaff when I first visited and still use it living here.
You can order a sim for free to your home in the US, select the plan you want. Pop it into your phone when you land and it should work. Also includes EU coverage if you’re traveling anywhere else.
