Hi Ladies, I am planning to switch but also given current market conditions it's not easy. Also, I have plans for mat break in a year or so. What would be ideal if you were in my position?
1. Switch n wait for 1 year in next firm to plan mat break- quite uncertain when things will fall in place
2. Stay in current firm(avg pay, work load is little more, commute time is more, good ratings)- get done with mat break and then plan for any move , not sure how much practical will that be

Stay in the current firm, they might give you flexibility post maternity .

I second her. Stress plays a major part in family planning. If things are smooth and manageable in the current firm, and you think you can stay here for the next 2-3 years then continue. If things are unmanageable here in terms of work pressure and growth, then taking a chance somewhere new is better. There's no guarantee they will be better than them but at least you will get a raise/growth and then once baby is 1.5 you can decide.
Things are changing rapidly so I would say focus on what matters to you most. Rest you you will handle 😊

Plan both things parallely , whatever happens first then plan accordingly.

Switching and then planning for mat break would be better as once baby comes into picture you can't switch for like 1 year or more as baby demands more and switching means you need to adjust to new project and it will also require time.

Hey, does anyone work for Jacobowitz Newman Tversky? Would love to know more about the office and culture .

What is the drug culture like at your office? I assume people don’t openly talk about what they do in their free time if illicit, but they may do so quietly or you can otherwise tell.
Do you get the impression many people do them? If so, soft drugs (ex - weed)? Hard drugs? Non-prescribed study drugs? Frequency? At work-sponsored social functions? To an extent that it’s noticeable/problematic?

My fiancé and I both have the CSR card and Freedom Unlimited combo and love them. We are thinking of adding another card and we were considering the Amex Platinum (to diversity transfer partners) or likely a United card for lounge access since we live in Chicago.
