Yes. Some people on here will like to act like if you’re on less than 6 figures London is unliveable but in my experience that’s not the case. HOWEVER rent in London is expensive and has experienced massive rises in the past few years, so you would struggle to find a 1 bed and have comfortable disposable income on that salary.
I mean yeah if you want a studio then rents are pretty high depending on where you want to live. But apart from that not really sure what these other comments are on about. I am on 60k and comfortable 🤷♀️
No you would not. The going rate for a room is around £1k. 60k after tax is around 3k. TFL is so bloody expensive, this is not a liveable wage for a single person. Everything is super expensive now. We are NYC without NYC salary
It is 3.6k take home
You’ll have to compromise on housing on 60k - either flatmates or studio that’s farther out or in a less desirable area. Aside from that point, it’s enough to be “comfortable” but not luxe.
Your monthly net income with 60k is around 3k; Studios cost around £1.5-2k a month - depends on how much you intend to save (if at all), and how much your normal “night out” is
Most people who move to London move into zone 1 or a super nice area so rent takes a big chunk of their take home. If you're smart, and flexible about the area you're willing to move to, you'll be fine on £60k as a single person with no dependents.
Agree … not sure where all these £3k figures are coming from. Take home pay on £60k should be £3.3k minimum - more if you’re not having to pay back student loans
£60k is not a good salary for a single person in London, particularly with current cost of living. It is livable but if you want to live by yourself and not flatshare, you will likely spend most of your salary on quite basic things and will not be saving much.
No
Depends entirely on your expectations.
You could get a studio, just not one in a great area.
Yes, Ill see you at Bob Bob Ricard on thursday night
