Make sure you write a quick 30 second "elevator speech". Introduce and tell a little about yourself. Basically you are selling yourself and your skill set. Practice til it sounds good then practice some more so that it doesn't sound fake. Always smile when encountering people. Also think outside the box regarding using your skills. Good luck!
I’ve been out of work all year and only on a few interviews. I was told to have stories to to give examples of my skills.
I'm terrible at interviews. I'm introverted and not great at selling myself either. But have a lot of experience. I did recently got a new job. Pretty typical questions though. Tell me about yourself. Strengths. weaknesses. Tell me about a time....
Well let’s see, I have been out of work for a while so that is a big issue with interviewers. But I have lots of experience. That can be a problem as well. But I stay updated and great at what I do. But I just want to work and be happy. Part time is great with me as well. I can do lots of things, such as bookkeeping, legal documents, or anything in that realm. Human Resources is another fave of mine, Administrative Assistant is another passion of mine.
Most of my jobs have been admin, I'm still fairly young so about 10 years on an off experience. I get a lot of anxiety and don't have a lot of confidence in general. I mostly wing it because if I prep I get so much anxiety I won't be able to sleep. I try to do normal interview stuff. I dress nicely for the job, then quickly look over my experience and the job posting before I go in. I have a notepad in case I want to take some notes and a few basic questions I had thought of before I came. Usually, I bring a copy of my resume, references, and job posting just in case. Otherwise, I try to be myself because I need to know if I will fit in there. I'm picky about what jobs/companies I apply to because if it's a bad fit I have a hard time trying to force myself to go, and I get massive anxiety and stress just trying to show up. I'm lucky and I've gotten most of the jobs I've interviewed for. Most of the interviews I go to ask questions about previous experiences I've had in certain situations. Or how comfortable I am using certain programs.
Be sure to smile, keep eye contact, have a handy list of your skillset. Do some research on the department you may work for. Let them know how you will be an asset to the department.
Depends on the level. AA III is in the range of 49k-72k, but when I had that role, I was given almost 60k. If you apply to RAND, lmk if you need a referral.
I would emphasize the fact that you're pro-active and give examples of how.
I have found excellent videos with coaching how to do your resume, interviews and other related information, the correct way to get job offers. YouTube Chanel: selfmademillennial and website: madelinemann.com. She is also on LinkedIn. It gave me knowledge how to do it well and helped me to be more confident at the interview. Hopefully it helps you too.
What is the average salary non-except for a Administrative Assistant in Pa?
PA has AA roles open I think but the problem is that external people only really see the evergreen posts.
AA IV is probably 64k. Not there yet tho
