I've been working professionally for over 8 years, and have been in positions where my responsibilities included writing. I've never been a full-time writer, but I now want to transition into writing full-time.

I've applied to a lot of jobs without success. I think my CV looks stellar, and I've built a portfolio website with examples.

It's been two months since I've left my previous job, and I'm getting desperate.

15 YOE, recently started my first tech PR job at a large, stable company & have been asked to get ~20 SMEs in front of media. Subject matter is not sexy. I lead PR for all of U.S. & have no other PR colleagues. My agency’s budget is 100k/year & they’re spread too thin to hit their KPIs. I feel set up to fail & feel we should be focusing on a handful of SMEs and only our sexiest topics. Any advice on mitigating unrealistic expectations for coverage? Anyone have advice for advancing in your current role? My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year.
