Hi,
What will be the in hand salary for this?

BCG final round interview in a week. Any tips on what to expect in a partner level conversation?
- how is it different than the round 1 experience?
- how important is the casing component? I'm doing pretty well, but not perfect. Friends have been eating me 8/10, with the need to improve structure and be more top down in my communication. I'm wondering what I can do to improve that in a week and if that will be a deal breaker on interview day?

👋🏽 hijabi strategy consultant here. Honestly, have to be a bit more outgoing and engaging than usual for a client facing role. I've found it a little harder to gain trust, but if you're friendly enough, most people open up quickly. I also NEVER talk about religion or politics even if others bring it up. Be prepared for people to ask invasive questions, and either have a friendly dodge, or be prepared to give a PC answer. Also means having to control temper or annoyance
If you feel that way and choose not to wear it, that's fine. What is unprofessional is denigrating your (potential) coworkers and giving them fewer opportunities because you don't agree with their clothing choices.
I don't understand what D1 is kidding about... hijabis are people and people can choose to have careers in any field
D1, how so? I've never experienced this issue, nor has it ever come up in any performance evaluation or conversation.
Agreed with SC1..its a personal choice and eventually you choose whats your priority. I have definitely experienced being looked at "differently" due to my hijab. But we have to learn to tone down our expectations and adapt to the reality. Just wish there were more of us to lean on each other for support.
And wth D1..Im at deloitte too and living the hijabi consultant lifestyle..so hijabis in consulting? NO WE ARE NOT KIDDING YOU!
Idk if D1 is being serious or not
You ladies are carrying the team on your backs and still killing it. #slay
Hijabi strategy consultant here too. I wouldn't say my hijab has hindered me in any way. On the other hand, what does hinder me is feeling self-conscious about contributing in client meetings because of how junior I am and inexperienced I feel (...which are really stupid reasons but something I'm actively working against)
Also I take HH as they come. I've definitely stayed to the end of some (sometimes out of pressure to not want to leave with so many people still there... also I'm a social butterfly). But I grab a water usually (you could grab any soft drink... I don't drink them tho) and mingle around. Some HH locations are super inconvenient and uncomfortable... like your bar/club type. I've set a rule for myself that if I need to get ID'd to go in, it's def. not an okay place to be so depending, I'll step in for 5-10 and leave or not go at all. If it's a restaurant bar HH those are usually better. I try to google the location beforehand to get an idea of what type of place it is and how I feel about going. I don't go during Ramadan or any more spiritually blessed times. I also don't go in the summer but that's personal preference because it's way too hot. And finally, I think it's imp to remember that not all networking happens at HH... look for opportunities to reach out and meet others on the day to day and with other events
Hijab in consulting? Are you kidding
How do you all feel about the constant happy hours as social activities? That's one thing im just super conscious about and feel out of place with
@K1, do the Irish exit! Enjoy a soft drink or two, and bow out either as soon as 1-2 people also leave, or as people start getting tipsy.
I think hijabs at work are very unprofessional and take away from the focus on work
I dont need the whole world yo know about my faith and get discriminated?
LMAO refusing to dignify that with a response. We're living in 2017 y'all....
I'm a hijabi with clients in security and defense and I've had no issues thus far.
