I do it right before Iftar.
I drop my sets down to a 3x3 or 3x4, lift heavier, but not enough to overdo it without my energy.
I usually go an hour before iftar and then lay on the floor for the final 5-12 minutes before breaking fast lol.
Start slowly and feel out what your body tells you and is comfortable with, you should be fine, no issues.
Lol
I don’t really eat fried stuff or change my diet for Ramadan.
Still a protein heavy, medium carb intake, both for sehri and iftar.
I might be one of the few who does a proper “cut” during Ramadan haha
🙋🏻♀️ Depends I guess- I personally am planning to go in after Iftar but also changed my goals with my trainer this month to maintain/not push too hard. 😅
I'm still trying to figure it out. I'm gonna wait the first week and see how I feel before deciding. I definitely think it's a post iftar thing rather than a pre iftar thing. I used to work out before eating breakfast, but not sure if I can handle that with sehri...
I think you can maintain what you have by doing post iftar session. This month isn’t a time to look to make progress or pr in strength and muscle mass in my opinion. I’d focus on lowering your body fat percentage if you’d like to be more shredded, you could squeeze in a steady state cardio session before iftar and hit the weights later 2 hours or more after iftar.
Personally, I wouldn't force it. Besides, this season is supposed to be a time of consecration so for me, I completely do away with all fitness and just take walks where I can clear my mind and reflect before breaking
I get your point C1, but if someone is training for months progressively they don’t want to just stop cold turkey and just go for walks you know. They still need to do enough to at least maintain
How’s it been going with the training?
So today was the first time I lifted since Ramadan begin and it honestly wasn’t bad! I am used to training first thing in the morning so maybe I was already somewhat prepared. It was hard not drinking water and I did lose steam toward the end of the workout but got through. And then it was iftar :)
Go to the gym daily following iftar. Eat a carb filled iftar and then do weights/cardio. Hasn’t been a real issue for me. Obviously, take naps during the day to survive.
