Hot take: not everyone who’s been in healthcare the longest is automatically the best teammate. Experience matters, but attitude matters too. I’ve worked with brand-new CNAs who outperformed veterans on teamwork alone. Anyone else seen this?

That's absolutely true that experience doesn't necessarily make someone a good worker. I've found that sometimes it can seem to be quite the opposite. I've worked with people who have put in a lot of time, and it's brought them to the point where they seem content to just phone it in. Attitude always matters more.

Yes! Some of them tend to “cut corners” the longer they’ve been there and it’s not always more efficient.🫠

THANK YOU!!!! You can do something for years and still be both a bad teammate and bad at your job. We're plagued by that at my hospital, and the worst part is these people all have an entitled attitude. Like working for the same place for 10 years makes you more important and qualified than someone who just joined 🙄

Exactly!! The entitled attitude irks me so much!😅

I definitely agree. I think attitude and worth ethic means a lot rather than seniority.

Yes! Ive seen coworkers of a few months with better attitude & work ethic than coworkers who started even before I did.

I started my new job completely remotely in June and when we go back to the office, it would be a 1.2 hour, 40-mile one way commute.. Would it be entitled of me to ask to come into the office 3x/week since by the time that we return to the office, I’ve already proven that I can work efficiently from home? I feel like it’s a much more sustainable option.

I just accepted an offer in writing. The new job will start the background check next which I’ve been told it may take a while to complete. My start date at the new job isn’t until 2023 so there is some time for me to turn in my notice. I don’t anticipate any hiccups in the background check but is it wise to wait until the background check is complete before turning in my notice?
