You just don't update your LinkedIn. No one can question you on why you don't have an account or why you didn't update your LinkedIn. It's your choice what you do with your social media accounts.
I’m in the overemployed Reddit and I always see people say that the general rule of thumb is to get rid of your LinkedIn presence. Otherwise, if you must have one, you can create a burner LI with no profile picture and list your jobs but put “Confidential” instead of putting the company names. You would be able to list your job description, keywords and skills learned so you show up in recruiter searches. You would also replace your last name with your initial or middle name. That way you can still network and be somewhat anonymous
It’s not an issue because most people work 6 months to a year before bothering to update their LinkedIn account
You can hibernate your LinkedIn account…there is no mandate that you have an account.
